Stan Whitehouse

It is with great sadness that we have heard that Stan Whitehouse has passed away.

 Stan was a great stalwart of Royston Bowls Club and supporter of Letchworth & District and the County.

He was President of Royston in 2000 and 2013 and also Secretary for many years.

He will be sorely missed, sincere condolences to Yvonne and family at this sad time.

Funeral details will be posted when known.

 

Val Bingley

It is with great sadness that we report the passing away of Val Bingley.   Val was a much-loved member of both Baldock Town Bowls Club & Riverain Indoor bowls club.

 

Val had a distinguished bowling career both indoors and out. She represented both Essex and Hertfordshire at Leamington. Her greatest personal accomplishment coming in 2006 where she was national runner up in the senior singles.  At Baldock Town Bowls Club, Val held a variety of committee positions, the most recent as treasurer of the sports club.

 

Val will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and teammates, sincere condolences to her family at this sad time.

Her funeral will be at 12 noon on Tuesday 3rd December at North Herts Crematorium, SG5 3RT,

followed by a Wake at The Stables,Three Horseshoes Pub, Letchworth, SG6 1AG.

 

Val's family would like as many members as possible to come to the Three Horseshoes to celebrate her life

and share the many happy memories we all have.  So that the family have an idea of numbers,

please let Matt or Jan know if you are able to attend the wake.

 

Details of a charitable donation in Val's memory will be shared in due course.

 

Sheila Embleton

It is with great sadness that we have heard that Sheila Embleton has passed away.

 Sheila was a long standing member of Radlett BC,  a Past President of

Watford & District Ladies Bowling Association and an Executive member.

 

Rod Smale

It is with great sadness that we have heard that Rod Smale has passed away.

 Rod, wife of Sandra, was a long standing member of Potters Bar BC where he and Sandra looked

after the Green for many years.

 

His funeral will be held at 2.30pm on Thursday 5th December in the North Chapel at West Herts

Crematorium, High Elms Lane, Garston, Watford, WD25 0JS.   Dress code bright, not black.

After the service, you are invited to join the family for refreshments at The Three Hammers (Ember Inn),

210 Watford Road, AL2 3EA (check in your car on the machine in the car park)

The family request no flowers, donations if desired in memory of Rod would be greatly appreciated to
