England U25 International Trial

Matthew Coppen attended Blaby BC on Saturday 26^th May 2007 and took part in the England U25 International trial.

48 players and 4 reserves were selected for the trial. The trial consisted of two games of 15 ends with a lunchtime break. The jack was spotted when driven off the confines of the rink. In the first match Matthew led against 2006 Junior International John Bell Jnr from Cumbria and his team won.

In the second match Matthew led against 2006 Junior International Robert Drew from Cambridgeshire but his team lost this match. Matthew acquitted himself well amongst some very good junior players and did not let himself or Hertfordshire down. He now waits to see if he has been selected for the training day, which is to be held at New Lount BC Leicestershire on 22^nd July.
