On Saturday May 5th, Welwyn & District Bowls Club had the honour of hosting President Pauline Proud of the Isle of Wight Ladies’ Bowling Association and her touring team who played against President Mavis Hendry and the Hertfordshire County Women's Bowling Association team.   Although the afternoon was cool, the players enjoyed the Welwyn green.   Hertfordshire won by 139 shots to 104.  President Mavis welcomed the tourists on their first visit to Welwyn and wished them a enjoyable tour visiting other Clubs in the County.
